29th ANNUAL PLUM FESTIVAL

A Sweet Celebration
at Old World Huntington Beach!

SUNDAY, AUGUST 25th
12pm-8pm

Get ready to dive into a plum-filled extravaganza! Join us on Sunday, August 25th, from 12pm to 8pm for the 29th Annual Plum Festival at Old World Village, Huntington Beach. This year, we're serving up our famous Pflaumenkuchen (Plum Cake), crafted from Italian plums that only ripen for a magical two weeks each year. Plus, we've got a lineup of delicious plum treats, refreshing plum-infused cocktails, and the lively tunes of the German band Stuben-Buben.

What's in Store?

Immerse yourself in the enchanting Old World Village atmosphere, where every corner bursts with joy and flavor. Originally a tribute to Dolores, the beloved First Lady of Old World Village, and her passion for plum cake, our festival has grown into a beloved tradition since 1995. Here's what you can look forward to:

  • Sweet Delights: Delectable plum cakes, plum puff dough strudel, homemade plum jam and juice, mouthwatering plum Berliners (sugar-coated plum-filled donuts), invigorating plum schnapps, delightful plum martinis, and more plum delicacies.

  • Savory Bites: Legendary Bratwurst on a roll, Goulash, Pork Shank, Hamburgers, Schnitzels, and an extensive selection of authentic German beers on tap.

  • Entertainment: Live German music, captivating folk dancers, and the lively sounds of the Stuben-Buben band.

  • Family Fun: FREE admission and parking make this a perfect family-friendly outing. Wander the cobblestone streets, explore the charming village shops, and enjoy the festive ambiance.

A Tradition Born from Love

The Plum Festival's roots run deep. Inspired by the Strawberry Festival in Garden Grove, we thought, why not celebrate plums in Huntington Beach? Our talented bakers at Old World Bakery created the irresistible Pflaumenkuchen, a special plum cake made with those rare Italian plums. Guests fell in love, and the tradition took off.

The festival also honors a heartfelt family story. Dolores's mother, Elly Schwarzer, baked her beloved Pflaumenkuchen for her daughter's birthday every year, even during World War II. This tradition continued until Elly's passing at 100 years old. The festival keeps their legacy alive, celebrating love, resilience, and the joy of sharing delicious food.
